On the road that leads to to the dam of the Cancho del Fresno reservoir.
    
1 La Villuerca peak.   «Map»
The highest point of the region at 1600 m altitude. Here, in addition to observing different types of raptors, you can see Alpine Accentor, the Black Wheatear, Blue Rock Thrush and Red-billed Chough.
    
2 Estrecho de la Peña Amarilla Gorge.   «Map»
The viewing point on the EX -102 from Alia to Puerto de San Vicente at km 92.3. From here you can see the nests of Griffon Vulture, Egyptian Vulture and Peregrine Falcon, which can be seen almost the whole day, many times joined by Black Vulture. Another abundant bird on these rocks is the Eurasian Crag Martin.
    
3 Peña Buitrera, Cabañas del Castillo.   «Map»
The twin of the rock with the castle ruins of the village of Cabañas del Castillo. Here are several pairs of Griffon Vultures. As a result of the high altitude you are in the exceptional position to see the birds flying below your viewpoint.
    
4 Riscos Landrino.   «Map»
Near Navezuelas on the road of the Valle del Viejas is an observation point on the cliff where you can see Vultures with the naked eye.
    
5 Llanos de la Fuente de la Nava.   «Map»   «Detailed Map»
In between Robledollano and Campillo de Deleitosa is an observation area for large predators such as Imperial Eagle, Golden Eagle, Booted Eagle, Griffon Vulture and Black Vulture.
    
6 The Guadarranque River Valley.   «Map»
At km 96 on the EX-102 from Guadalupe to Puerto de San Vincente is the access road to the Guadarranque River Valley. Here you can observe raptors like Golden Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle, Black Vultures, Eagle Owl and Egyptian Vulture.
    
7 Guadalupe River Mouth.   «Map»
At the mouth of the Guadalupe River is an area of wetlands where you can observe Herons, Cranes, Coots, Teal, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Ducks, Grebes, etc.
    
8 Ruta de los Molinos (Guadalupejo River).   «Map»
Along its banks you can see Kingfishers, Golden Oriole, Nightingale, White-throated Dipper, Wagtail, Tits, Red-rumped Swallow.
You can observe these species along most rivers and streams that run through the region.

Río Ibor.   «Map»
All the way from its source in Sierra de las Villuercas to the Valdecañas reservoir. There are species like the Golden Oriole, Nightingale, Cirl Bunting, Bonelli's Warbler, Jay, Long-tailed Tit and Dipper.
    

10 Upstream Río Almonte.   «Map»
Along the CC-121 between Retamosa and Roturas. In winter you can observe Geese and Cranes. Throughout the year Cormorant, Great Crested Grebe, Egret, Heron, Mallards and other ducks.
    
11 Río Almonte between Aldeacentenera and Deleitosa.   «Map»
The bridge over the Almonte on the road between Retamosa and Aldeacentenera. At this point and downstream of the Almonte river are several species of waterfowl such as Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Mallard, Heron and Cattle Egret. In winter, Geese and Cranes.
A downstream access point is the bridge on the road from Deleitosa to Torrecillas de la Tiesa.   «Map»
    
12 Dehesa Boyal de Alía.   «Map»
Southeast of the village of Alía. Access from the CC-151. Observe Lapwing, Black Stork, Bee-eaters, Thrush, Blackbird, Crested Lark, Sparrow, Azure-winged Magpie, Corn Bunting etc.
    
13 Dehesa de Logrosán.   «Map»
On the EX-102 from Logrosán to Zorita, turn left at the intersection to Madrigalejo (km 41.3). In the trees along this road are White Stork colonies. Also Lapwing and several raptors can be seen.
    
14 Dehesa de Berzocana.   «Map»
Along the CC-129 between Aldeacentenera and Berzocana. A dehesa area where you will see Hoopoe, Azure-winged Magpie, Common Magpie, Greater Short-toed Lark, Thekla Lark, Crested Lark and pigeons.
    
15 Dehesa de Carrascalejo.   «Map»
Along the CC-20, km 3, between Carrascalejo and Villar del Pedroso. In this dehesa area you can see Hoopoe, Magpies, Pigeons, Doves and Starlings.
    
16 Dehesa de los Campos de Ramos.   «Map»
Along the the road between Retamosa and Aldeacentenera. From this point go further in the direction of Aldeacentenera on the other side of the Almonte. A beautiful area very rich in all the dehesa species.
    
17 Raña de Dos Hermanas (Alía).   «Map»
At the EX -102 direction Alía/Talavera de la Reina take the first turn to the right, direction Castilblanco. After 2 km turn left at the Becerro Camino de la Mancha. Here you see White Wagtail, Wheatear, Stonechat, Subalpine Warbler, Thrush, Long-tailed Tit and many more.
    
18 Aldeacentenera Steppe.   «Map»
On the CC-23-3 from Aldeacentenera to Torrecillas de la Tiesa at 6 km from Aldeacentenera you find steppe birds such as the Great Bustard, Little Bustard, Pin-tailed Sandgrouse, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Stone-curlew etc.
    
19 Valdepalacio paddy fields.   «Map»
The paddy fields along the EX-116 between Guadalupe and Obando (in between km 13 and km 10) attract year-round Waders and ducks. In summer these fields form an important feeding area for all types of Herons, Egrets and Storks. On the dryer parts (dykes) breed Black-winged Stilts, Little Terns and Gull-billed Terns. The adjacent scrublands are an ideal place to see Waxbills.

Just 4 kilometres South, along the EX-116 at km 7.4, is the Moheda Alta Reservoir. One of the most important wintering places of cranes in the Iberian Peninsula. Its meadows are home to predators such as Blue Black-shouldered Kite, Hen Harrier and Golden Eagle.
    
20 Sierra Brava Reservoir.   «Map»
On the border with the neighboring county, Los Llanos de Trujillo. Here winter various migratory birds (up to 150,000 according to the census of SEO/BirdLife). Little Bustards, Geese, Pintail, Gadwall, Pochard, Gull-billed Tern, Coot etc.
    
21 Sierra de Ortijuela.   «Map»
Between Roturas and Cabañas del Castillo. Just North of Roturas follow the narrow concrete road between these two places. Large vulture colonies nesting on the cliffs. The second half of this road is a dirt road where a 4x4 is recomendable.
    
22 Rio Berzocana.   «Map»
Dehesa like oak woods along the road from Berzocana to Logrosán. Here Black Stork, Black-shouldered Kite and European Roller can be seen.

The Rio Ruecas and Rio Cubilar reservoirs.   «Map»
These reservoirs are situated south of the village of Logrosán. It is possible to drive over the dams in the Rio Ruecas. The dam in the Rio Cubilar is only accessible by foot. Good observation places for Cormorants, Grebes, Little and Great Egrets, Grey Heron, Mallards and other ducks. Also warblers, Purple Heron, Night Heron, Little Bittern, and on the sandy shores breed Waders. In winter time Graylag Geese and Cranes are abundant while in summertime these reservoirs become important for Kingfishers.
